Dr Ikeda Chie is a Japanese dentist, who attained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Newcastle University, United Kingdom. She is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (MFDS RCS Edin), and the British Dental Association (BDA).
Following graduation, she served various posts in the public health sector in the UK (National Health Service, NHS). These included working in an NHS practice, district hospital as a senior house officer in the Maxillofacial Department, Birmingham Dental Hospital in the Oral Surgery and Emergency Dental departments, and in the community setting looking after patients with special needs. These valuable and humbling experiences allowed her to help patients of all ages and background.
Dr Ikeda strongly believes in prevention and conservative management. With her experience in managing patients with dental phobia, she strives to provide a pleasant experience for her patients. She regularly attends courses to help improve her dental knowledge. During her time in the NHS, she had completed an MSc in Primary Dental Care (with Merit), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (with Merit). Her dissertation was published as an abstract in the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry.
