Dr Dawn Lum graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from National University of Singapore in 2018. Following her graduation, she gained experience through her service in various public health institutions. She started out her service at National University Polyclinic (Jurong) and National Healthgroup Polyclinic (Woodlands) where she provided primary dental care for the community. She continued serving in National University Centre for Oral Health which gave her the opportunity to advance her skills across multiple discipline dental work such as crowns, dentures, root canal treatment, managing medically complex patients, emergencies and trauma. She also took up the role as Dental Officer In-Charge, which helped broaden her perspective beyond clinical dentistry. She has also had the opportunity to serve in local and overseas dental missions, growing in her knowledge and understanding of the needs of the community.
Believing in continual learning and growth, Dr Dawn invests her time in continuing her professional education through courses. She is a member of the College of General Dental Practitioners Singapore.
Dr Dawn hopes to make the dental experience for patients one that is comfortable and enjoyable. Believing that prevention is better than cure, she hopes that she’ll be able to help those she meet better understand about and know how to care for their oral health.
Outside of work, Dr Dawn values her time with her loved ones and enjoys spending time chatting with them for hours over meals. Playing an instrument is a form of relaxation for her.
